As Crazy As I Ever Was

drunk and writing poems
at 3 a.m.

what counts now
is one more
tight pussy

before the light
tilts out

drunk and writing poems
at 3:15 a.m.

some people tell me that I'm
famous.

what am I doing alone
drunk and writing poems at
3:18 a.m.?

I'm as crazy as I ever was
they don't understand
that I haven't stopped hanging out of 4th floor
windows by my heels-
I still do
right now
sitting here

writing this down
I am hanging by my heels
floors up:
68, 72, 101,
the feeling is the
same:
relentless
unheroic and
necessary

sitting here
drunk and writing poems
at 3:24 a.m.

Music:

Bit of a random posting here, but seeing how it's the holidays and I always drink myself into depression during this time period (instead of drinking myself out of depression) I figured I would just embrace it.

I've been having a debate lately over the saddest song ever written but I've narrowed it down to the following.

Happy Holidays everyone, enjoy the snow fall on Shot Callin' and enjoy these sad tunes on such a "happy" time of the year.

Sincerely,
The Grinch

You & I

As one man picked up his beer.
the other did the same (identical beer).

I guess we have a lot in common,
a beer says a lot about a man.
and i can tell by our beer that we (my friend)
are a very rare breed of men.

you see,
guys like you and i,
we don't come around too often.

we are introverts ,
trapped within the jail cells,
of our minds....
day
after
day
after
day.

guys like you and i,
we care too much about women,
although we like to pretend we don't.

we try to better the world,
by sleeping with one woman at a time.

guys like you and i,
we are in a constant state
of unease.
although we mean well,
the world doesn't always do the same.

we drink to forget
but each drink just
makes us remember more.

so here's a toast to forgetting remembrance.

guys like you an i,
we are hopeless romantics.
we want to fall in love,
with every piece of ass that
comes our way.

but to be fair (my friend)
we treat each ass with the most upmost,
and i mean the upmost,
respect.

we're the kind of guys that
open doors,
we listen,
we wine  and/or dine women.
for fucks sake we even "cuddle."

and with each drink,
both men fell into
a deeper depression. (more so than ever)

he washed his face
and looked into the mirror one more time
and said,
well, (my friend), i guess this is me

guys like you and i,
we just don't exist in multiples.

and they parted ways,
this last time...

Now to second order of business. Since I usually like to include a track off whatever mix I am posting, today you get a track off Steve Lawler's latest Drumcode release which he did with Alex Tepper. I've only played the B-side before Chalkee, but hearing the A-Side, Doves, in this essential mix gave me the chance to hear this track standout in a very impressive playlist.

Out on Drumcode.

Also, I have comprised my top 10 electronic tracks of the year. I did this in conjunction with cooljunkie.

Peep the top 10 here.

House

In the beginning, there was Jack, and Jack had a groove.

And from this groove came the groove of all grooves.

And while one day viciously throwing down on his box, Jack boldy declared,

"Let there be HOUSE!"

and house music was born.

"I am, you see,
I am

the creator, and this is my house!
And, in my house there is ONLY house music.
But, I am not so selfish because once you enter my house it then becomes OUR house and OUR house music!"
And, you see, no one man owns house because house music is a universal language, spoken and understood by all.
You see, house is a feeling that no one can understand really unless you're deep into the vibe of house.
House is an uncontrollable desire to jack your body.
And, as I told you before, this is our house and our house music.
And in every house, you understand, there is a keeper.
And, in this house, the keeper is Jack.
Now some of you who might wonder,
"Who is Jack, and what is it that Jack does?"
Jack is the one who gives you the power to jack your body!

Jack is the one who gives you the power to do the snake.
Jack is the one who gives you the key to the wiggly worm.
Jack is the one who learns you how to walk your body.
Jack is the one that can bring nations and nations of all Jackers together under one house.

You may be black, you may be white; you may be Jew or Gentile. It don't make a difference in OUR House.

And this is fresh

Music:

Well, here's a neat concept. House legend, Kerri Chandler's Computer Game's EP has seen 3 expansion packs. They are titled Computer Games: The Unreleased Files: Expansion Pack 0.1 - 0.3. Each sleeve is a nostalgic floppy disk (remember Oregon Trail?). I'm particularly liking expansion pack 0.3 (god, that sounds so geeky). Anyway, 0.3 is all remixes by one of my favorite current producers, Argy. The Arg-meister (See Argy) is a perfect fit to remix Kerri Chandler as he's one of very few new producers who can actually capture that classic house sound.

Tracklist:

A1 Fortran (Argy's 6'23 Mix)
A2 Fortran (Argy's 6'23 Legendary Bonus Beats)
B1 Fortran (Argy's Big Room Detroit Mix)
B2 Fortran (Argy's Detroit Dub)

Flies

Came across this video for Black Thinking by combustion. It's a very entertaining piece and it all starts with a man trying to kill a fly.

Music:

Double Room, is a loopy track with a nice rhythm section going on. Love the subtle unintelligible vocal break down, it really gives the track a bit of soul. It is part of the Double Room ep, which includes two other tracks. You can hear more from Seuil on his myspace.

Out on Moon Harbour.

December

I normally post my monthly top 10 chart on myspace but I figured I could start posting them here too.

I'd like to point out the next petFood release will be hitting dropping later this month. It's a track titled Papayua, that I am doing with my petFood label partner Jay-You. You will hear it in my upcoming DJ sets and as usual a sample of it will hit the myspace players before it drops. petFood 003 (January) will be the Nitemares ep and 004 (February) will be a new act we are putting out with a remix I am doing for him, you'll hear more soon. I know I'm being a little vague but I don't want to jinx myself.

December Top 10 Chart

  • Trentemoller - Moan - Poker Flat
  • Reboot - Vandon - Below
  • Emad Parandian - Kamanche (Tiefschwarz Remix) - Souvenir Music
  • Luciano & Mirko Loco - Mousa Big Band - Desolat
  • Lazaro Casanova & Jay-You - Papayua - petFood
  • Livio & Roby - Tuxedo Band - Fumakilla
  • Matt Star - Kuhle Fliege (Hugo Remix) - International Freakshow
  • Marco Carola - Bloody Cash - Plus 8
  • Lazaro Casanova - Los Tambores - petFood
  • Martinez - Momomowha - Moon Harbour
As an added bonus (or just an incentive for you guys to give a fuck about my chart) I've gone ahead and did a little music write up on one of the tracks listed above.

Reboot has released with Cocoon, Cadenza, Plastic City, Raum...Musik, among others. His latest offering, Sidekick EP, has already gathered plenty of support. The B-side, Vandon, is played frequently by Loco Dice, Mathew Dear, and Peace Division, plus many more. The A-Side, Nunez, is also great and more on the drum tip but for some reason I'm a sucker for B-sides.

Out on Below.

A Realist

I sat down at the latest hot spot, had one free drink, and left a slew of good looking girls behind.
........
I am going to die an old and lonely bastard.

Music:

This next track I heard Davide Squillace play a few weeks ago. Kuhle Fliege, was originally released on Matt Star's full length titled, Art of M. Recently, Kuhle Fliege, got the remix treatment from Hugo (Italy) and Jonas Kopp (Not Italy). Hugo, a recent favorite of mine, adds cowbell goodness.
