Post WMC. New liver needed.

WMC is well over now, even though some strung out partyers are still wandering the beaches looking for a party. I'd have to say my only complaint was that there were too many parties going on in one night. As a result of that, I missed Green Velvet play at the AM Only party. And apparently there was also a very poorly promoted party dubbed Detroit Legends which included the great Derrick May himself among others (sorry no Juan Atkins at coference). I didn't find out about this party til the week after.

Surprisingly, the party I dj'd on Thursday @ Rokbar turned out to be off the hook. Friday, the Revolver party with the crazy line-up was...well...crazy. In my opinion, Para One and Boys Noize set the bar for the night. I've also realized why I never attended Ultra Music Festival before, I slightly feel bad for the massive crowd who actually stood to watch Tiesto play. I briefly heard a song he was playing while on my way out, all I remember is a horrible girl vocal...total DDR track.

This Saturday I play Juarez, Mexico @ The Hard Pop. I hear great stuff about this club, so I'm looking forward to playing. I promise I won't be arrested this time.

Larry Tee gave me a promo of his during WMC. Licky, which features vocals by Princess Superstar has a rather juicy remix by Herve. Larry Tee told me it was the best remix he's heard Herve do yet. While thats a big statement, if it's not the best he's done, it's damn near it. My favorite park of the remix is near the 3 minute where the track takes a turn to the old school, plus airhorns blowing over it. Old meets New.

Part of another great promo I got during conference, this is new Sinden with someone by the name of The Count of Monte Cristal (which appears to be an alias of Herve). Tamborzuda (Rave New World Mix) has Portuguese vocals spitting over it. The track itself can be classified as Baile Funk with a dance twist and as the title suggests, some classic rave synths.

I just got word that this will be released on Man Recordings on May 4th as part of the Funk Mundial series. Go here for further info. For you vinyl lovers, it will be limited to 300 pressings on clear vinyl.
