Tom Cruise Cries

It is agreed, we can definitely see Tom Cruise as a cry baby, aside from being a psycho, and aside from being in the closet. However, this isn't a celebrity gossip blog. Recently, I came across the new Rakes album, Ten New Messages. While I know this blog has taken a turn for dance music mostly, The Rakes have been in my opinion one of the more talented acts from the "uk-post-punk" rush we had over the last few years. The new album doesn't quite live up to Capture/Release but still has a few gems that you (the listener) should check out. Among other decent songs, my favorite has been When Tom Cruise Cries. Not only is the title by far one of the best I've seen in a while, but the song itself is pretty damn good. I especially appreciate the geek factor involved in it, with a hook that goes along the lines of "I tried to call your phone but the network is down or you're just not answering" or the 2:29 marker where you hear that infamous "phone buzz" interference you usually get from having a phone near a stereo. I admit, I was guilty of looking at my phone thinking I was getting a call until I realized it was the actual track. The album is all new material aside from the first track, The world was a mess but his hair was perfect, which was originally performed live for a Dior show and ran about 15 minutes long. Don't worry the track is only 5 minutes long now.

It seems that now-a-days every new decent track I hear is somehow linked to John Dahlback and it's entirely his fault. John Dahlback is notorious for coming up with random names to put out records under, despite his already impressive catalogue under his real name. This time he's going by Jetboy.

Elektrochemie is the collaboration of producer and DJ Thomas Schumacher, producer Stephan Bodzin and vocalist Caitlin Devlin. Mucky Star is a killer track and best of all the 12" offers a instrumental edit for all you Dj's out there. Not that the original sucks, I just prefer instrumentals over vocals. Get your hands on this one!

Quite of few have asked for my remix of Mstrkrft's, Easy Love. Rather than send out to each of you, just like I promised, I decided to make it easier on myself and post here. For those of you who haven't heard this yet, I will warn you that this is quite a bit of headache music. It might have something to do with the fact that I played a real rave a few weeks ago.
